TO-Arena is meant to provide a simple and fair competitive environment for the Tactical Ops community. These rules apply to official ladder matches unless a specific ladder states otherwise.
Every match should be decided by the players — not by exploits, cheats or outside assistance.
Any software, modification or method that provides an unfair competitive advantage is prohibited. Intentionally abusing map bugs, inaccessible areas or unintended game mechanics may also lead to penalties.
Players are expected to compete seriously while still treating their opponents with basic respect.
A player taking part in an official match must belong to the team they are representing on TO-Arena.
Players should compete under their usual or registered nickname so that their identity is clear to both teams and administrators.
Sharing accounts, creating additional accounts to manipulate rankings, or playing under another person's identity is not allowed.
If a team needs to use a replacement player, that player must meet the requirements of the ladder or receive approval where necessary.
Both teams are responsible for agreeing on the match date and making sure they understand the format before playing.
The match page should clearly establish important details such as:
Teams should raise roster, server or match-setting concerns before the game begins whenever possible.
Once both teams start the match, they are considered to have accepted the agreed setup unless a serious rule violation is discovered later.
Official matches should normally be played on community-approved Tactical Ops servers configured for competitive play.
Both teams must follow the format assigned to their ladder.
Players should not deliberately interrupt the match, delay rounds, abuse technical problems or otherwise attempt to gain an advantage outside normal gameplay.
If a server or connection issue makes the match temporarily unplayable, both teams should first attempt to resolve the situation fairly.
A restart should only be used when there is a legitimate reason and both sides understand what is happening.
Teams are expected to be available at the scheduled starting time.
A short delay is understandable, but players should communicate with their opponents instead of leaving them without information.
If one team is still unavailable 15 minutes after the scheduled start and no reasonable arrangement has been made, the opposing team may report a no-show.
Admins may consider Discord messages or other available evidence when reviewing a no-show request.
The result recorded by TO-Arena should reflect what actually happened in the match.
Deliberately reporting an incorrect score, fake match or manipulated result is considered ladder abuse.
Players should be prepared to provide match evidence when any player is accused for cheating.
An administrator may request a first-person demo, screenshots or other relevant material from players.
Failure to provide requested evidence without a reasonable explanation may affect the outcome of the investigation and can result in penalties or ban.
Players are therefore encouraged to keep their match demos for several days after playing an official ladder match.
Competition can get heated, and normal in-game banter is not a problem.
However, official matches and TO-Arena discussions should not turn into harassment, discrimination, threats or repeated personal attacks.
Players who intentionally disrupt matches, spam excessively or repeatedly create problems for opponents may be warned or removed from competitive events.
Keep the rivalry inside the game.
TO-Arena staff may spectate or stream official matches on Tactical Ops YT channel when necessary.
Matches may also be streamed, recorded or featured as part of community coverage by players.
A spectator must never provide live information to either team.
Additional spectators may be permitted when both teams agree or when allowed by the relevant ladder.
When teams disagree about something that happened during a match, they should avoid turning the situation into a public argument.
Instead, provide the admins with:
Administrators will review the available information and make a decision based on the circumstances.
Submitting false or deliberately misleading evidence may itself result in punishment.
There is no single punishment for every rule violation.
Depending on the situation, TO-Arena staff may issue:
The severity of the penalty will depend on the violation, available evidence and previous behaviour.
Competitive rules cannot predict every situation that may happen in Tactical Ops.
TO-Arena staff therefore reserve the right to make decisions in unusual cases where the written rules do not provide a clear solution.
Administrative decisions should prioritize competitive fairness, consistency and the interests of the community.
Rules may be updated when necessary to address new situations or improve the ladder system.
